“But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness]” James 4:6, Amplified.
Father, I give you praise! there is no one like you! I’m humbling myself to your will today. I bow before you and let you be Lord of my life. I set my ears to listen to you. There is no good thing that I can do on my own. All of the strength, all of the love, all of the joy, and all of the perseverance I need comes from you. You are my unlimited Source. Keep pride from me. Help me, Father to not only humble myself to what I can’t do, but also to who you say I am and what you say I can do through Christ. You said if I humble myself, You’ll exalt me in due time. You said if I walk humbly, You will give me your awesome grace. I receive Your mighty grace, and I thank you Jesus for living through me today. May my light shine like the sun and I thank you for doing great things through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
